III International Stanislav Neuhaus Piano Competition

III International Stanislav Neuhaus Piano Competition was held in Chelyabinsk on November 05-15, 2015.

Place of the Competition: Sergey Prokofiev Concert Hall of the Chelyabinsk State Philharmonic Society and Concert Hall of the Children’s School of Arts

Musicians from different parts of the world took part in the South Ural Competition. Russia was represented by the leading conservatoires of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Nizhniy Novgorod, Rostov-on-the Don. Former Soviet Republics were represented by the competitors from Byelorussia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Kirgizia, Azerbaijan; far abroad countries were represented by the pianists from Spain, Mexico, Israel, USA, Taiwan. All in all, more than 150 applications were sent to the Organizing Committee of the Competition.

The Jury of the Competition was headed by Eliso Virsaladze (Russia), People’s Artist of the Georgian SSR, People’s Artist of the USSR, Professor of the Moscow State Conservatoire.

Jury members are:
• Stanislav Pochekin (Spain) - Head of the Piano Chair of the Barcelona Conservatoire, Professor;
• Evgeni Ryvkin (USA) – Professor of the Georgia University (Atlanta);
• Elena Sorokina (Russia) – President of the All-National Piano Duo Association, Professor of the Moscow State Conservatoire;
• Miguel Angel Scebba (Argentina) – Professor of the San Juan National University;
• Evgeni Levitan (Russia) - Head of the Special Piano Chair of the Chelyabinsk State Academy of Culture and Arts, Professor.

The Competition was held in two age categories – Group A (under the age of 18) and Group B (under the age of 36). In 2015 the Competition was held in two nominations: in the traditional main “Piano Solo” nomination and in the new “Piano Duo” one in which the musicians not younger than 15 and not older than 36 years of age were allowed to participate.
