April 14-20, 2021 Chelyabinsk plays host to IV International Stanislav Neuhaus Piano Competition, a high level international competition named after Stanislav Neuhaus, one of the greatest pianists of our times. 
Great Russian pianist Stanislav Neuhaus was known all over the world as a romantic pianist and teacher who was giving master classes in the conservatoires of Vienna, Paris and Rome. His concert and teaching activity was a great success in Europe and was first highly appreciated by a great pianist Margaret Long.

The Competition is organized by: Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Culture of the Chelyabinsk Region, the Chelyabinsk State Institute of Culture, the Conservatoire Faculty.
The idea of the project belongs to a famous musician, a student of Stanislav Neuhaus and Berta Maranz, Head of the Special Piano Chair of the Chelyabinsk State Institute of Culture, Honored Worker in the Arts of RF, Professor Evgeny Levitan. 

Competition aims and objectives: 
• Commemoration of the great pianist, one of the best representatives of Russian national piano school; 
• Discovery of new young talented people in the performing arts; 
• Support and strengthening of national piano school; 
• Creative cooperation and sharing experiences with world great musicians; 
• Increase of piano-players and teachers professional level; 
• Popularization of classical music;
• Utmost development and increase of the young people cultural level, drawing of attention to universal human values; 
• Increase of cultural image of a region, city, university.

The Program of the Competition comprises the compositions from the repertoire of Stanislav Neuhaus. The age of the participants ranges from 18 (Group A) to 36 (Group B). The Jury of the Competition is represented by famous musicians from Russia and foreign countries who are planned to give master classes and workshops for the guests of the Competition. The Chairman of the Jury is People’s
Artist of the Georgian SSR, People’s Artist of the USSR, Professor of the Moscow State Conservatoire Eliso Virsaladze.
Creative competitions will be held during 8 days in two categories - “Solo Piano Playing” and “Duo Piano Playing”. The participants of the “Solo Piano Playing” category (Group A, up 18 years of age) will have to overcome two rounds of competitions and the participants of the “Solo Piano Playing” category (Group B, up to 36 years of age) – three rounds. The participants of the “Duo Piano Playing” category will overcome only one round of competition. Among the participants of the South Ural piano competition will be not only the musicians from Russia but from other countries too.
